Let's dance, celebrate, and unite as one community.
Munich Carnival stands for inclusion, diversity, and joy. Inspired by the legendary Carnival of Trinidad and Tobago, we celebrate the vibrant cultures of the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa.
Our mission is simple: embrace our differences, unite our community, and create space for authentic cultural expression. Like Berlin’s Karneval der Kulturen, we turn the streets into a stage for powerful rhythms, lively dances, and real connections.
Munich Carnival is more than an event—it’s a celebration of freedom, unity, and togetherness. Join us and be part of one big, joyful family!
Our Values – What We Stand for
Let’s dance, celebrate, and unite as one community.
Munich Carnival is a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and freedom. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of Berlin’s Karneval der Kulturen, we bring the rich cultures of the Caribbean, Africa, and Latin America to the streets of Munich. It’s a platform for unheard voices, a showcase of hidden treasures, and a joyful stand against division and inequality.
We embrace all bodies and celebrate individuality, rejecting unrealistic beauty standards. Our mission is to create a safe, judgment-free space where everyone—regardless of gender, background, or status—feels beautiful, valued, and free to express themselves.
More than just a festival, Munich Carnival is a powerful act of unity, revitalizing the city with music, dance, and the energy of togetherness. It’s a celebration of life, respect, and the vibrant diversity that makes us stronger as one.

We want to dance together. We want to create space for free expression and true connection. Connection through music and the shared experience of freedom. Free from worries, free from perceived barriers .
Freedom of expression and Love for Music & Dance
Munich Carnival follows the example of Afro-Caribbean carnival, which originated in the Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago .
That carnival emerged as an expression of resistance by the African and Indian population of Trinidad against the oppression they have expe- rienced for decades . Although we are in a completely different place at a completely different time, we also aim to set a sign with our carnival against prevalent unequal power relations that manifest themselves in racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination.
On this day, the streets belong to US, that is, to those who are other- wise not heard or seen, who are pushed to the background, who are not taken seriously. We are loud, we are strong, and we stay.
